Re: Quixtar #3

Oh no! That sounds terribly frustrating about your email service. Do
you use outlook? Also I know you have your email on your business
cards already but if you’d like I can offer you a Gmail account (every
person that signs up gets 6 to give out). I switched from hotmail
myself, it’s quite useful (more space, free, vastly intuitive layout,
useful embedded links to news and relevent ads, quite genius!… but
im a googlefile anyway…).

Tech stuff aside, I think I’ll respectfully decline. I can’t help but
feel a little dodged and lured with regard to the three specific
criteria: Position, Wage, and Hours. I do appreciate your time further
explaining the business to me. I’m just not comfortable commiting more
time to a position I know nothing about, even in such a promising
industry.

Lemme know if I can help you troubleshoot your email.

GUILTY CONNECTOR: A hybrid human/noise-machine that creates
noise-scapes of unfathomed depths. Banging hand-made noise generators
aka “SHIBAKI Electronics” made of iron plates, he creates and
liberates dazzling spectra of sounds, from ultra-fast extreme harsh
barrages to meditative spacy sounds. Experience the roar of his live
electronics with your own flesh. GUILTY CONNECTOR (AKA Dr. Kohei C.
AKA The Filth) was born in Kyoto Japan in 1981. Currently based in
Tokyo, Japan he has also collaborated with Tabata (Zeni Geva), Bastard
Noise, Birchville Cat Motel, Sudden Infant, and has released on labels
including Groundfault and MSBR. He also runs the record label Utsu
Tapes.

—————————————————-

LETHAL FIRETRAP: LETHAL FIRETRAP was formed in Tokyo, Japan, 2004, to
create dark, atmospheric music with a distinct focus on narrative
forms. Heavily influenced by science fiction, each performance is a
journey based on themes of space travel and terraformation and
destinations frequently include sublunar labyrinths and crystal
crypts. Members include Dr. Kohei (GUILTY CONNECTOR) and Kelly Churko.
Churko was born in Moose Jaw, Canada in 1977 and studied classical
piano and jazz. Currently based in Japan he is also a member of
avant-jazz group Almost Transparent Blue and the noise unit Hospital.
He has toured Europe, Japan, and the United States.

IF, BWANA: “Sounding like an archaic echo, If, Bwana could be the
title of a Bob Hope-Bing Crosby vehicle that never got made. A little
investigation reveals it as the oddly worded cover for Al Margolis,
who is perhaps better known as a tireless activist in the 1980s
American cassette underground and, later, as the co-founder of
experimental music label Pogus Productions. Derived from an acronym
for It’s Funny, But We Are Not Amused, the name sticks out like a
cartoon-swollen sore thumb alongside such artists as AMM,
Morphogenesis and Pauline Oliveros in the Pogus catalogue, but the
music more than holds its own. Essentially comprising Margolis plus
occasional contributions from friends, If, Bwana have been active
since 1984, making music that has swung between fairly spontaneous
studio constructions and more process-oriented composition. His latest
release, the double CD I, Angelica, leans more in the former
direction. The grinding, textural soundscape, “Guitars By Al,” is
simply eight tracks of overdubbed guitar sped up, slowed down and
processed in different ways. “Goo Pond” is built around a recording
made during a walk through the woods near Margolis’s new home in the
small town of Chester, New York. The darkly abrasive drone of “The
Railway Station Fire,” meanwhile, recalls the kind of music he used to
champion through his cassette label Sound Of Pig Music in the
1980s…” For more of this article taken from “The Wire” visit
